New-Build Project Support
As a team that has worked in the shipyard sector for many years, we provide high-level supervision services with the strength we derive from our long years of experience in the process from the material supply stages to the delivery of new construction projects.
All phases of the project are supervised full-time on behalf of the ship/boat owner or main contractor/shipyard to ensure that the conditions specified in the contract are met and completed on time and to the desired quality.
In this respect;
- When necessary, support is provided for the incoming quality control processes of the materials supplied for the boat,
- The physical and environmental conditions of the boat production area and material warehouses are inspected and corrective actions are taken when necessary.
- In the production process of fiberglass boats, quality control is carried out starting from the mold stage until the main structure emerges, including lamination processes and the assembly of modules.
- During the production phase of sheet metal boats, compliance with the class-approved drawing is checked, welding and workmanship quality are checked regularly,
- It is checked that the boat's equipment and installations are carried out under appropriate conditions, piping, electrical, insulation, painting, placement of machinery and auxiliary systems are carried out according to the approved design drawings.
- The visual and aesthetic condition of the boat, vitrification, furniture fittings, entertainment systems and issues affecting comfort, ergonomics and cosmetic appearance are examined.
- In harbour acceptance tests, it is checked that all equipment, alarm, warning and protection systems are working with full performance.
- With the sea trials to be made before delivery, functional tests of all systems, maritime capability of the boat, compliance with the contract and class rules are tested, and deficiencies and faulty issues eliminated.
Our goal during the construction process is to take actions that make a difference on the way to absolute customer satisfaction.
- Completing the boat on time is often a difficult goal to achieve and requires reaching milestones on time. To this end, we work closely with the shipyard, both supportively and stimulatingly. Careful planning at an early stage can provide solutions in advance. This benefits both the shipyard and the boat owner, as delays are prevented and warranty issues are minimized.
- Reporting inconveniences, delays and quality problems related to the construction process of the boat and their timely elimination with efficient coordination and correct guidance with the shipyard are of great importance.
- Due to the thinness of the sheets used in yachts, it is quite common for them to deform during welding operations. It is necessary to perform the process according to the approved welding procedure with the appropriate welding sequence and heat input, and to apply stress relief annealing. Removing non-standard deformations with the puttying method is risky because it has a negative effect on the strength of the boat and requires extra labor. Since welding operations are considered as a “critical process”, close supervision is required for the production of a quality boat. At the same time, welding errors are one of the most important reasons for the formation of corrosion conditions.
- In the production of fiberglass boats, it is inspected whether the lamination processes are carried out in accordance with the class-approved procedure, under appropriate humidity and temperature conditions by certified personnel. Since mistakes made in this critical process may occur later in the life of the boat, it is vital to prevent them from the beginning.
- Changes are suggested in the design drawings for the technical specifications to comply with local regulations, ease of use and maintenance or ergonomic reasons. Care is taken to ensure that the systems behind the coatings are easily accessible for maintenance or operational reasons.
- The intense working conditions in the narrow space require the equipment to be carefully protected against damage after the transfer, assembly and subsequent damage to the boat. It is necessary to take precautions against these damages that may occur after the delivery of the boat, even if it is of a small scale. All equipment subject to hull configuration is also inspected in this aspect.
- Inspection of high-importance contract manufacturing outside the shipyard is carried out at the production facilities.
- Attention is paid to marking and labeling in terms of ease of maintenance, repair and operation that will be needed throughout the life of the boat.
- The pre-delivery inspection process includes the evaluation of the contract and technical specifications, system and sailing tests, internal and external cosmetic detection/controls. A list of missing and faulty issues for an ideal delivery process is prepared by our surveyor and a protocol is made to the boat owner or main contractor/shipyard for their elimination.
- During the handover, it is ensured that the certificates and documents are approved in accordance with the contractual matters and the legal requirements of the classification society and the flag state.
